Last week I shared with you some BIG news as well as revealed the greatest killer to your success. Today, it is apropos that I turn over the reigns on the issue themed personal development and include a clip from my mentor, the man who started me on my grand personal development journey, Mr. Jim Rohn.
Jim taught me many things and maybe the most important was the goal and purpose of life. This is what he taught me, he said,
“The goal of this human adventure is productivity; pursuing the full development of all your potential. To see what all you can do with all that you have been given.”
Isn’t that great. Let me say it again, “To see what all you can do with all that you have been given.” Then he would constantly challenge me by saying,
“Don’t seek security, seek adventure. It’s better to live 30 years full of adventure than a hundred years safe in the corner.”
Well, it has been his voice that has been ringing in my ears. As I mentioned in last week’s post, the great threat to our innate sense of adventure and the pursuit of next level growth is complacency.
Nothing kills your spirit of personal growth and development like complacency. If there is something to fear in life this is it: COMPLACENCY.
You can see it this way, complacency is the kryptonite to your personal super powers and what will tether you down, keeping you from answering The Call, the call to your great adventure and continuing your hero’s journey to discover the life you were meant to live.
We have achieved great things since re-launching SUCCESS eight years ago. We did what NO ONE thought we could. Everyone was betting against us. In fact, the media was mocking us because “SUCCESS” had FAILED three times before us. Their headlines were “Here we go again.”
It is now eight years later and we have done it. We have made our namesake proud and restored the brand and legacy of SUCCESS back to its previous glory, originating 125 years ago in 1891 by Orson Swett Marden. Today the brand reaches over 5 million people monthly and is growing. Everything I came to do has been done, and now it is time for new challenges, grander missions and next level adventures.
I want you to know, no matter in what chair I sit, I am committed to success, YOUR success. I am forever committed to nurturing the seeds of greatness I know are buried in side of you. They have been bestowed to you. There are in there, they just need belief and nurturing.
I believe in you.
I believe in your greater potential.
I see the hero in you.
I will continue to be your trusted guide on the journey of the never-ending search for the best within you.
I am still here for you; I will still be with you.
You can always find me at DarrenHardy.com, on all the social channels and most especially for free morning mentoring at DarrenDaily.com.
I want to end this last blog post as your publisher with my all-time favorite quote pulled from my favorite book: Atlas Shrugged written by Ayn Rand.
These are the words I too want to leave with you.
“He, the man of violent energy and passionate ambition, the man of achievement, lighted by the flame of his success…
In the name of the best within you, DO NOT sacrifice this world for those who are its worst.
In the name of the values that keep you alive, DO NOT let your vision of man be distorted by the ugly, the cowardly, the mindless, in those who have never achieved their title.
DO NOT let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all.
DO NOT let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved but have not been able to reach.
Check your road and the nature of your battle – the world you desire can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible.”
Ah, it IS possible, and it’s possible for YOU.
I believe in you.
And I wish you great success.
With Love and Respect,
