Fear Not!

There is a Japanese proverb, “Fear is only as deep as the mind allows.”

Fear while an instinctual part of each and every one of us, should not control us or drive our actions, except in the case of extreme danger like being attacked by a shark or other such creatures. Obvious right?

Then why do so many let fear, some knowingly and most unknowingly drive their daily actions and limit the life they can lead? Well, it doesn’t limit everyone.

Torre DeRoche suffers from Selachophobia, or what she fondly has renamed Horriblehorriblesharkydeathphobia. This is merely one among many of her fears when it comes to the ocean.

Yet in her mid-twenties, she agreed to embark on an adventure that would mean sailing across the Pacific Ocean and facing every single one of those maritime related fears head on... GO TO POST

How to Build A Billion-Dollar Business

want tell you how to build a Billion-Dollar Business.
Oh, you don’t think you are capable or qualified to build a billion dollar business?
Well that thought is incorrect.

You see, success is an equal opportunist.
Success is blind to things like gender, age, race and especially background.
Some of the wealthiest and most successful people you know or have heard of come from a background filled with hardships and even poverty.

That’s the American Dream, right?
Start with nothing, end with everything you could possibly dream of. There are quite a few examples of people I could pinpoint who have lived the American Dream and left their mark on the world, most you have probably heard of. This is one you might not be as familiar with... CONTINUE READING

I am a FREAK

HTML Editor - Full Version

...a productivity freak to be exact. But yes, a freak!

It all started when I was 8 years old.
Here’s what happened…

I was sitting on the olive green shag carpet of my grandfather’s family room floor.
My grandfather was sitting behind me in his favorite chair crinkling the newspaper as he read it.
I don’t remember what I was playing with on the floor, but I do remember what came on television.
It was an episode of ... CONTINUE TO POST

Conquering Connections pt 2

Now a question I hear a lot of people ask is how do you network if you are an introvert? Well, you asked the right guy.

You might be surprised to learn that I am mostly an introvert. I self-describe myself as an extroverted introvert, meaning I rise to the occasion when I need to be extroverted, but otherwise I am naturally introverted. This has also been termed an ambivert defined as: normally comfortable with groups and enjoys social interaction, but also relishes time alone and away from the crowd.

My mentor Jim Rohn put it best when he said, “I’m a very private person living a very public life.” That’s me too!

When you’d ask Jim what he was after, what he was striving for, he’d answer, “Quiet and solitude.” I certainly get my rest and recovery the same way.

In fact, whether you know it or not, most of the super-successful people I have met fit the description of an ambivert... CONTINUE TO POST

Arrggh!

Trying to be more successful can be stressful, am I right?

It seems the bigger your goals, the greater your ambition... also the greater your stress.

I lived most of my life like that: Big goals… and big stress.

But after spending time with many of the world’s greatest achievers I discovered something…
They don’t.

Some of the most relaxed, present and attentive people I’ve met are the ones with the biggest responsibilities and the big ‘B’ next to their net worth.

How do they do it (all)?

That is what I am going to attempt to explain in a special 10-part video series I’m delivering exclusively through DarrenDaily.

Conquering Connecting pt 1

“Everyone looks so much better when they smile.”
That is a quote from Jimmy Fallon, who you now know of as the host of the legendary “The Tonight Show.”

What a meteoric ride that guy has had to the top?
How did he do it?
How did Jimmy, son of an IBM machine repairman, get to the chair once occupied by maybe the most legendary figure in comedy TV for 30 years straight, Johnny Carson? Oh yeah, the same chair Jay Leno sat for 20 years too.

He did it through... CLICK TO CONTINUE

How to Attack Deliberate Practice: 4 steps

Last week I shared an example of deliberate practice through the story of Kobe Bryant and his insane work ethic. Now before you can attack this idea of deliberate practice, let me help further define it for you so you know how.

Deliberate practice is a highly structured and highly engaged activity with the specific goal of improving performance. Deliberate practice is different from work, play and simple repetition of a task. It requires effort and it is not necessarily inherently enjoyable. When you engage in deliberate practice, improving your performance over time is your goal and motivation.

That’s not to say that deliberate practice can’t be designed to be fun, but it isn’t inherently enjoyable on its own. If you want to gain skills rapidly or approach expert-level status at something, you must understand the importance of deliberate practice and learn how to incorporate it into your daily process.

Now let me give you the steps to attacking deliberate practice... CONTINUE TO POST
